At a campaign event for the Citizens ‘ Movement party in Nuevo Leon, northern Mexico, four people died and at least 15 were hurt.
The structure at the time collapsed, according to a report from the neighborhood paper.
The decline happened in San Pedro Garza Garcia, a powerful colony near Monterrey. Jorge Alvarez Maynez, the party’s presidential candidate, confirmed on social media that he was” OK” after being taken to a local hospital, though some of his team members sustained injuries. Alvarez stated that he would be returning to the crash page.
In a film released on social media, Nuevo Leon Governor Samuel Garcia addressed the audience, urging residents to stay inside due to the severe storms in the area and acknowledging the incident.
Alvarez Maynez is already polling in second place in Mexico’s presidential election, which is scheduled for June 2, trailing considerably behind ruling party member Claudia Sheinbaum and second-place Xochitl Galvez, who represent a diverse coalition of opposition candidates.
Galvez expressed her condolences to the victims ‘ families in a social media post, as did Maynez, her rival.
