According to the Ocoee Police Department, an 11-year-old son is charged with killing after shooting his uncle in their Ocoee home next year.
An Ocoee police officer responded to a home on Idaho Court on Friday night and said the boy had shot the girl, and the child was taken into custody, according to a spokesperson for the organization. The victim died there after being taken to an Apopka clinic.
It’s not clear what led to the killing or how the baby, who lived with the victim, had access to a weapon. The Police Department denied citing an active investigation when The Sentinel requested an arrest petition and information detailing the killing. There were no additional defendants, according to a spokesperson for the company on Friday.
The Orange-Osceola State Attorney’s Office has not disclosed whether the child will be charged as an adult or no. Because the situation is now being heard in juvenile court, a spokesperson said they could not reply.
The child appeared in court Saturday, where a person claiming to be the victim’s child asked a judge to let family to attend the him, which the prosecutor granted,  , WFTV reported.  , That aunt, the TV place added, said the baby had been living with the target since he was 6 months old.
The Orlando Sentinel does not publish the victim’s name to defend the personality of the baby.
