
Nine people were killed when gusts of wind blew up the stage at a campaign event for Jorge Alvarez Maynez ‘ Movimiento Ciudadano party in Mexico.
The accident took place in San Pedro Garza Garcia, in Nuevo Leon, in the state’s northeast region. State Governor Samuel Garcia said that in addition to the deaths, 70 had been taken to the hospital, according to a blog on his X bill. He even instructed residents of Nuevo Leon to remain at home as the wind got worse.
Claudia Sheinbaum, the pioneer for the June 2 national vote, and Xochitl Galvez, the sprinter- up in view surveys, offered their condolences.
Alvarez Maynez claimed in a blog on X that he had recovered from the event site and was good after being taken to the hospital. He continued, some people of his promotion workers were hurt and were receiving medical attention. On Thursday, he even called off additional plan activities.
He ranked third out of three candidates with 6.7 % support in Bloomberg’s most recent Mexican Election Poll Tracker, behind Xochitl Galvez and the frontrunner, ruling party candidate Claudia Sheinbaum, who had 67.3 % support. On June 2, there will be votes.
