According to Carlos Roberto Rubio Arreola, president of the Gas Station Owners Association in Baja California, nearly half of the petrol stations in the Tijuana area are shut down due to a regional fuel shortage.
” Out of 278 oil place, we have 123 facilities that are completely closed in Tijuana, Tecate and Rosarito. There is only a small stockpile of advanced unleaded and diesel in other countries, according to Rubio Arreola.
Rubio Arreola is asking the general public to refrain from purchasing “panic.”
He claims that gas stations are only selling 500 pesos, or about$ 30, per year.
” This will give people a chance to get gasoline”, he said.
Residents in Rosarito began a weekend-long siege of a factory, which is responsible for the shortage.
The service is on the beach, about 25 miles south of the border.
They are requesting that the state of Baja California grant them name and complete possession of the estates where they have built their homes, and are blocking all exposure to the hospital.
The condition has for the time being made clear that it is not willing to comply with requirements made by those participating in the siege.
However, the residents have vowed to keep up their wall against the Rosarito plant until they are satisfied.
