Mayorkas, CBP’s Troy Miller reward officials on 100th anniversary of the Border Patrol, but drop to join with reporters
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was in El Paso on Friday to pay tribute to the 156 U.S. Border Patrol agents who have lost their lives in the line of duty since 1924.

Before or after the memorial, neither Mayorkas, Miller, or Jason Owens, the regional head of the U.S. Border Patrol, made themselves available for media interviews.
Border Patrol El Paso Sector Chief representative Scott Good remarked that the position of a frontier representative has evolved over the years.
