One of the two Jordanian nationals who attempted to sneak onto a Marine Corps base in Virginia this month, according to a report from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE ) on Thursday confirmed that one of them had crossed the southern border into the United States illegally in April.
ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations ( ERO ) confirmed in a statement to Fox5DC that the Jordanian national, referred to as “noncitizen 2” had entered the U. S. illegally less than a month prior:
On April 8, 2024, the U. S. Border Patrol ( USBP ) arrested Jordanian noncitizen 2 near San Ysidro, California, following his unlawful entry into the United States.
A Department of Justice ( DOJ) immigration judge was appointed by the USBP on April 9, 2024. Later that evening, USBP released the Jordanian noncitizen on an Attempt of Custody.
ERO even claimed that the other Israeli national, who was referred to as “noncitizen 1,” had applied for a F-1 nonimmigrant student visa on September 11, 2022, but that his” Student and Exchange Visitor Information System record was set to “terminated” on January 14, 2023.
ERO said:
On May 3, 2024, the Quantico Marine Corps Base in Quantico, VA arrested the Jordanian noncitizens for trespass. ERO Washington responded to the Quantico Marine Corps Center on the same day and conducted an interview with the foreigners. After verifying their immigration position, ERO Washington detained both noncitizens.
Nero stated that both noncitizens may stay in the care of ICE ERO until their removal proceedings were finished.
According to the statement, “ICE has no info that may indicate that a noncitizen is associated with any organization that would be a threat to public safety or regional security.”

The incursion was initially reported on May 10, 2024 by a regional media outlet.
The two Jordanian nationals” contrayed for Amazon” to the camp’s main gate in the early morning hours, according to Potomac Local News, and then drove up in a container truck to the post office.
They were directed to a holding place for assessing despite not providing any qualifications. One of the soldiers” continued to move the car past the holding place and attempted to access” the foundation, according to a base official. They also “reported that one of the soldiers noticed that the vehicle was ignoring the soldiers ‘ strong orders.”
The men were therefore detained and then used a vehicle denial barrier to prevent it.
One of the vehicle’s occupants is “on the U.S. criminal see list,” according to the outlet.
The center was next placed under increased security, and a large email was sent to basic staff urging them to be on high alert, according to the document.
According to Fox News, Amazon stated that it is looking into the issue and that it does not believe the people were delivering goods for the business.
Democrats on the House Homeland Security Committee are launching an investigation into the event.
