Missouri State Rep. Ben Baker ( R ) made the revelation that his daughter and son-in-law passed away while they were missionaries in Haiti.
Baker wrote in a Facebook post earlier Friday morning that his soul was “broken in a thousand pieces, ” after his daughter, Natalie Lloyd, and his son-in-law, Davy Lloyd had been “attacked by criminals. ”
“My heart is broken in a thousand pieces, ” Baker wrote. “I’ve always felt this kind of problems. Most of you are aware that my daughter, son, and girl, Davy and Natalie Lloyd, work as full-time preachers in Haiti. They both received fatal injuries after being attacked by criminals this night. They went to Heaven up. ”
Baker continued to ask for prayer for his home, stating that they “desperately need power.” ”
“And choose pray for the Lloyd home as well, ” Baker added. For the moment, I have no other terms. ”

The children of Baker and his son-in-law had been working as pastors in Haiti in Port au Prince. The business was founded in 2000 by David and Alicia Lloyd, the families of Davy.
In a magazine published in May 2023, Missions in Haiti claimed gangs had “taken control of even more place in and around Port des Prince.” ”
The newsletter added that the “gang leader ” of their area was in control of “one of the ‘nicer gangs ’ in Haiti. ”
This gang works to prevent the ‘bad people ’ from entering our place, and we pray that they will continue to be sturdy enough to maintain some degree of harmony there, the organization wrote in the email.
Misssions in Haiti reported in a Twitter post that three cars carrying gang members in had attacked Natalie and Davy.
After being ambushed, Davy was taken to a home where he was “tied up ” and beaten before the group started to take anything.
A second group finally showed up, allegedly asking if they could assist. ” This resulted in distress, and one man being shot and killed, leading the group to move “into complete attack mode. ”
Davy, Natalie, and Jude Montis, the Dominican director of the firm, were shot and killed around 9:00 p. m. on Thursday, the firm shared in another Instagram post.
The United States State Department issued a journey advice for Haiti in July 2023 which warned against traveling to the region due to the risk of “kidnapping, violence, civil unrest, and weak health care facilities.
Former US President Donald Trump described their deaths as a “tragedy ” in a statement posted on Truth Social. ”
“God bless Davy and Natalie, ” Trump wrote. “Such a horror. Haiti is totally out of control. Consider the murderers RIGHT away! ! ! ”
