
Los Angeles — Morgan Spurlock, the Oscar-nominated director who documented the physical and psychological effects of a quarter of fast food lunches simply from McDonald’s, passed away at the age of 53.
He passed away from cancer problems, according to a speech from his home.
” It was a terrible day, as we said farewell to my nephew Morgan”, Craig Spurlock, who worked with him on various projects, wrote in the statement issued Friday night. ” Morgan gave but many through his skill, ideas, and compassion. A genuine inventive talent and a special person have been lost in the world. I am so happy to include collaborated with him.
Morgan Spurlock threw himself into his film process, consuming McDonald’s foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 30 weeks as he made the 2004 video” Super Size Me”, during which time he gained 25 pounds and suffered another ill effects. He followed up with a movie about meat consumption in 2017.
Spurlock produced nearly 70 movies and directed 23 of them.
