Pope Francis has recognized a mystery attributed to Blessed Carlo Acutis, making him the first Catholic Church young saints.
Known warmly as the “patron saints of the Internet”, Carlo was born on May 3, 1991, in London, England, grew up in Milan, and died on October 12, 2006, in Monza, Italy, succumbing to cancer at the age of 15.
Diagnosed with Leukemia in 2006, Carlo made a movie in which, smiling, he said he was ready to die and asked to remain buried in Assisi, the house of Saint Francis. The teen’s wish was granted, and his earthly bones were laid to rest that when he died shortly thereafter.
Pope Francis traveled to Assisi in 2020 to witness the consecration that would have ordained Carlo a saint.

The Catholic Church also needs an authorized miracle attributed to a ordained person’s supplication before recognizing the man as a saints, along with other requirements.
On Thursday, Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, Prefect of the Vatican’s Office for the Causes of Saints, met with Pope Francis, who approved the needed mystery for the martyrdom of young Carlo.
Liliana, a Central American lady, visited Assisi in 2022 and prayed at Blessed Carlo’s monument for her child Valeria.
Valeria had fallen off her vehicle in Florence, where she was attending college. In order to lower pressure on her head, the slide resulted in severe head injury that required surgeries procedure and the removal of the appropriate frontal bone.
According to physicians, the young woman had a very slim chance of surviving.
On July 8, the evening Liliana made her journey to Carlo’s monument in Assisi, the doctor informed her that Valeria had begun to breath naturally. The following morning, she began to move and restore her talk.
Ten days later, a Kitty test showed that Valeria’s bleeding had entirely disappeared, and, the following month, Valeria was moved to treatment therapy.
Valeria and Liliana went on a trip to Assisi on September 2 to bless Blessed Carlo for his assistance.
Pope Francis cited Carlo Acutis as a model for how to effectively use the Internet and communication media in his post-synodal apostolic exhortation Christus Vivit ( Christ Is Alive ), which was addressed to young people.
While the modern world may expose people to the risk of self- absorption, isolation, and bare pleasure, Francis wrote, there are young people who show creativity and yet genius in using the media, like as Carlo Acutis.
” Carlo was well aware that the whole apparatus of communications, advertising, and social networking can be used to lull us, to make us addicted to consumerism and buying the latest thing on the market, obsessed with our free time, caught up in negativity”, Pope Francis continued.
He claimed,” Yet he knew how to use the new communications technology to communicate values and beauty.”
Pope Francis stated in the decree that he would convoke a panel of Cardinals to deliberate the canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis.
