After several employees walked out in protest of Israel, a museum in Seattle had to close its” Confirming Hate Together” exhibit.
Employees from the Seattle Wing Luke Museum allegedly organized an Instagram campaign under the name @wlm4palestine, accusing the display of confusing anti-Zionism and racism. The” Confirming Dislike Up” show billed itself as an show for “anti- Eastern American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander dislike, Black hate and anti- Israeli hate”.
Last Wednesday, more than 20 people walked out on the same day the show opened.
A article from @wlm4palestine states that” the majority of our walkout community is made up of the most vulnerable workers of the Wing Luke Museum: front of house workers and part-time workers. There are 22 known WLM team members from all departments and organizational levels who are still showing signs of cooperation with walkouts, along with others who are also showing solidarity.
The people went as far to require that the museum reduce “any language…that attempt]s ] to frame Arab liberation and pro- Zionism as antisemitism”. The anti-Israel protesters even demand that the museum “accept the minimal perspectives presented in this show.”
” Missing ideas include those of Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslim populations who are also experiencing an increased amount of violence, scapegoating, and marginalization as Zionist troops continue the murder in Palestine”, the complaint said.
The campaign also created a GoFundMe page to solicit donations to cover unpaid wages. As of this writing, it has raised over$ 4, 300.
Additionally, the squabbling people launched a GoFundMe strategy to make up for lost income. The strategy has raised$ 3, 939 as of Sunday evening.
” The Confronting Hate Up exhibit stock ideas that , combine pro- Zionism as hatred. As Jewish Voices for Peace describes,  , pro- semitism , is prejudice, targeting, crime, and dehumanizing prejudices directed at Zionists because they are Jewish”, the webpage states.
” Anti- Zionism , is opposing the social philosophy of Zionism, which resulted in the eviction of 750, 000 Aboriginal Palestinians from their property and homes in 1948, and is the base of the ongoing murder.  , By conflating these two words, the Confronting Hate Up exhibit is upholding Zionism, and therefore extremely erasing the crime and persecution of Palestinians”, it adds.
The Wing Luke Museum called the walk-out event respectfully and supported the exhibit’s closing.
According to Fox News, the gallery stated in a Facebook post that” we recognize and support the right of our team to express their values and personal truths” and that we are using this opportunity for a” sharp and thoughtful approach of listening with the intention to discover multiple perspectives in search of a common goal.
