The IDF issued a declaration describing the attack:
Earlier this evening, an IAF aviation, in an Army and ISA intelligence- based attack, eliminated the criminal Yassin Rabia, the Commander of Hamas ‘ leadership in Judea and Samaria, as well as Khaled Nagar, a top official in Hamas ‘ Judea and Samaria wing.
The attack was carried out in the area of Tal as Sultan, in west Rafah, based on specific knowledge.
The Judea and Samaria wing of Hamas is in charge of planning, revenue, and carrying out terrorist attacks throughout Israel and throughout Judea and Samaria.
The criminal Yassin Rabia organized and coordinated all of Hamas ‘ criminal activities in Judea and Samaria, as well as planning and administering the terror attacks there.
In the past, Rabia carried out numerous violent despair attacks, including in 2001 and 2002, in which Army soldiers were killed. The criminal Khaled Nagar, a top official in Hamas ‘ Judea and Samaria offices, authorized shootings and other criminal acts in Judea and Samaria and transferred funds to Hamas ‘ terrorist activities in the Gaza Strip. Prior to this, Khaled Nagar carried out a number of dangerous terror strikes between 2001 and 2003 that resulted in the injuries and deaths of various Israeli soldiers and civilians.
According to reports, the IDF is aware that some civilians in the area were harmed as a result of the reach and the fire that was ignited. The event is under assessment.
The IDF added that it regrets “any injury to combatants during the war.” Additionally, it stated that the attack was” carried out against reasonable targets under international legislation, using precise weapons, and on the basis of exact knowledge that indicated Hamas ‘ use of the area.”
Amid media reports of women and children killed in an airstrike and ensuing fire, the Israel Defense Forces ( IDF) also ,  , said its prosecutor would probe the incident.
According to news reports, the Hamas commanders were based near a tent for displaced Zionists close to a UNRWA facility, which indicates that the number of human deaths appears to be higher.
Some sceptical Israeli outlets, including Abu Ali Express ( above ), claimed Hamas was attempting to profit from Rafah’s death toll, particularly after the Biden administration had been opposed to Israeli activity for a while and the International Court of Justice ( ICJ) issued a ruling on Friday that Israel must halt attacks there. Israelis believe the Judge to be biased against Israel because it lacks an impartial protection system.
Hamas is known to employ civilians as “human shields” to hinder attacks on its authority, terrorists, and facilities, knowing that if Israel does strike them, it will give an international political price that may deter future attacks.
