Democrats want to stop the Supreme Court from torpedoing their law-fare efforts against former president Donald Trump so members like Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., are publicly vowing to launch a coordinated attack on the judicial branch if their plan does n’t materialize.
My partner Tristan Justice explained that an” Appeal to Heaven” flag flew outside his New Jersey beach house last year, leading to the publication of a smear part about Justice Samuel Alito that was meant to “indict the conservative determine as a political ideologue corrupted by far-right politics.” The incident occurred time after another popular song alleged Alito was hacked due to an upside-down British flag flown by his family.
Raskin reacted to the reports, however, arguing on MSNBC that a federal ethics panel made up of circuit judges should be established if Alito does n’t “heed the calls to recuse himself from the]Jan. 6- related ] case whenever Raskin and other Democrats want to undermine the Supreme Court. This is in addition to the newly announced House Democrats ‘ task force, which includes Raskin and is a member. It works to reform the court through language and regulations.
Raskin went one step further by last week, urging Americans to “fall out of like” with the Supreme Court and arguing that the organization can only be trusted when Democrats have control over its functions.
]T] o my thinking, we’ve gotta coordinate the people in America. That’s where the energy comes from. And we will if and when we regain control of the White House, the Senate, and the House. We will examine the Supreme Court and determine what can be done to address that deeply corrupt and tainted institution.
Fellow Democrat Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse reiterated Raskin’s information in a blog on X saying,” Yes we did, nephew. Well we will”.
But the Supreme Court is n’t” corrupted” or” contaminated”. Simply put, it is n’t acting as a unit of the Democrat Party or as a footsoldier of the executive branch. And that’s exactly the true cause Raskin and another Democrats are so intent on ridiculizing the Alito nonstory.
The Supreme Court will decide whether to prosecute Jan. 6 activists for obstruction of justice, which could potentially stymie one of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s cases involving national resistance. By erroneously connecting the” Appeal to Heaven” symbol to thus- called “right- aircraft extremism” rather than its true history of the Revolutionary War, Democrats can stain the court — as Raskin put it — as a” tainted” and” contaminated” branch of government that can no longer function autonomously but must be supervised by Democrat lawmakers.
In fact, the Democrats ‘ rosily-named” court reform” task force is promoting justices ‘ ability to expand the bench, establish term limits for justices, mandate the Supreme Court to adopt an ethics code based on public input, and establish an independent review board to hear ethics complaints lodged against justices.
But as Alexander Hamilton warned in Federalist 78, the administrative unit “is in continual danger of being overpowered, awed, or influenced” if tied to either the executive or legislative tree.
The basic rights of the people can never be endangered from that perspective, Hamilton wrote in Hamilton, as long as the Judiciary is certainly different from both the Legislature and the Executive. And it proves, in the end, that liberty can have no fear of separation from either of the different departments, but that it can have no fear of separation from either one of them.
