Donald Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of auditing fraud on Thursday in a trial that some legal experts claimed was rigged and poor against the former leader from the beginning of the process after being chosen from a share of New York City voters who almost received 90 percent of the vote in 2020.
After the judge he coached through deliberations claimed that Trump falsified invoices, forged record entries, and fraudulently recorded repayment checks as lawful retainers, Biden donor Judge Juan Merchan may begin making arrangements to sentence Democrats ‘ leading political adversary, which could include a sentence that could lead to 136 years in prison.
When former president Michael Cohen paid pornographic film actress Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about an alleged affair, according to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, the former president was indicted.  , According to Bragg, because the cash changed hands ahead of the 2016 election, it should have been publicly reported as a campaign expenditure.
Nondisclosure agreements like the one that undergirded Trump’s payments are perfectly legal. The former president pled not guilty because the payment for which Bragg is prosecuting Trump does n’t meet the threshold for misreporting business expenses, much less amount of any criminal activity above a misdemeanor. Yet Bragg, who campaigned on , vengeance , against the Republican, ignored the FEC and Department of Justice’s deliberate decision not to charge Trump for the same payment and pursued a felony prosecution.
Numerous prominently anti-Trump legal experts and media outlets expressed concern that Bragg’s case was partisan and weak. Yet, that did n’t stop Merchan, equipped with a , “rabid pro- Democrat bias” , , from entertaining , Bragg’s demands , and gagging Trump.
In addition to limiting former FEC Chairman Bradley Smith’s testimony, Merchan also told the jury that they were not required to agree on Trump’s alleged crimes to declare guilty during deliberations.
Michael Cohen, a witness and convicted liar, and a liar, were found guilty of lying during the trial to have allegedly stolen thousands of dollars from Trump’s lawyer, but Trump will be the victim of the partisan judge’s fury on July 11, one week before the Republican National Convention.
Despite Democrats ‘ best efforts to remove Trump from the 2024 presidential campaign trail by branding him a felon and kangaroo court business, polls indicate that Democrats ‘ lawfare against the candidate does not have an impact on the majority of voters ‘ opinions of the Republican. About 15 % of voters believe a jury verdict like this increases their chances of supporting Trump.
