
With 749 persons connected to the tribes whose elections are the subject of political violence that range from threats to abductions and deaths, Mexico’s 2024 election is by far the most aggressive since 2018.
The crime include 316 situations involving prospects, of which 34 were murdered from September to May, according to the most new report by Mexico City- based firm Integralia. In all, 231 persons connected to the vote have been murdered.
The number of sufferers of political violence ahead of Sunday’s federal elections is off 151 % compared to the 299 patients in the 2021 vote.
” The use of political violence and organized crime contributed to this approach,” the author writes. Integralia stated in the report that it is likely that this crime will remain in the coming days and on election day in an effort to sway or stifle the vote.
Mexico is headed for its largest- always elections on June 2, with 20, 367 posts on the vote, including the chairman, Mexico City’s president, eight governorships and 628 parliamentary seats, in addition to several local positions.
The most hazardous says are Guerrero, Chiapas and Puebla with 105, 88 and 68 subjects of political violence respectively, according to Integralia.
The crime can be expected to maintain, according to Armando Vargas, expert at Integralia who coordinated the document.
It is possible that there have been efforts to act in polling stations since Monday and Tuesday, according to Vargas.
