One of the wrongful death lawsuits filed by survivors of the shooting at the Uvalde secondary school claimed that Activision, the developer of Call of Duty, trains “adolescents to be gunmen.”
According to Breitbart News, the families of the victims of the shootings AR-15 and Call of Duty creators Activision filed many wrongful death claims on May 24, 2024.
The lawsuits were filed by prosecutor Josh Koskoff.
The Associated Press , noted , that Koskoff pointed to Daniel Defense, Meta, and Activision, saying,” There is a clear line between the do of these businesses and the Uvalde shooting…This three- headed monster deliberately exposed him to the weapons, conditioned him to see it as a device to remedy his problems, and trained him to use it”.
In the grievance against Activision and Meta, defendants claim,” Activision is in the outrageously profitable business of teaching children to become , gunmen”.
The defendants admit that the action in Call of Duty is simply “virtual”, however, they claim the arms depicted in the video game “are authentic”.
The complaint alleges,” The]Uvalde attacker ] tracked down , items for which he had no , need—two different rifle sights, a , smoke grenade, an AR- 15 ‘ weapon skin ‘—because of their connection to Call of Duty”.
The Uvalde intruder, according to The Texas Tribune, “legally” purchased two rifles after he was old enough to do so. In order to purchase the guns, he must have passed background checks with a Federal Firearms License Holder ( FFL ).
He bought one rifle on May 17, 2022, and the subsequent on May 20, 2022. On May 24, 2022, he approached the institution with both of his weapons with him, but he wrecked his vehicle and left one of the rifle in the back of the car.  ,
