Former Trump secretary Michael Cohen, the troubled star witness for the prosecution against Trump, applauded New York Judge Juan Merchan, who presided over the Trump test, during an appearance on MSNBC during the show’s wrap-up coverage of past president Donald Trump’s innocent decisions.
How do you imagine Donald Trump is feeling now in the midst of these rulings? MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow asked.
” Well, I can only go back to when Judge Pauley sentenced me to 36 months”, Cohen replied. ” You do n’t feel good. Sentencing is bad. I, of course, took the appeal, the 48 time that was given to me, or they were filing the 80- site indictment that was going to incorporate my family. It always feels great. To safeguard my home, I took every precaution I could. This is very unique. Donald did n’t let it go in order to protect his family”.
” He took it all the way”, he continued. ” And Judge Juan Merchan, who is an utter person, to see him on that stand is to see poetry. It’s nice to see a skilled prosecutor who made fast decisions. He was totally administrative perfection. And Danya [Perry ] and the jury both had a lot of respect for him, just like Danya [Perry ] who kept me off of all of my social media, and who also had a lot of respect for him. I did exactly that out of regard for Judge Merchan and the procedure. And the judge respects Judge Merchan. And I do n’t think anyone he engendered any positive feelings in the courtroom, whether it was by Blanche or Donald himself, with the eye closing, leaning back, and total disregard for the jury.
