A dramatic weather advocate was arrested on Saturday night after plastering an “apocalypse” banner on top of Claude Monet’s” The Poppies” in the Musée d’Orsay in Paris.
In the latest stunt targeting priceless pieces of art by climate extremists, a woman from the , Riposte Alimentaire ( Food Response ) activist collective filmed herself sticking a poster to the famed painting from the French Impressionist, which was on display at the , Musée d’Orsay.
According to the organization, according to Le Figaro, the horrific banner was intended to “present a terrible edition of the same painting, representing a field of flowers in 2100, ravaged by flames and rainfall.”
” At + 4°C in 2100, southeastern Europe would match the Sahara, winter would vanish from the Himalayan range, and the rain in north India may be disrupted, greatly impacting its agriculture”, the group added.
A police spokeswoman said” a person who covered a decoration and stuck her fingers on the piece of art has been detained.”

The exhibition, which intends to document a grievance against the advocate, said following the incident:  ,” After assessment and treatment by a painter, the job was hung up. The public is now completely able to view the show.
Monet’s famous 1873 oil painting is just the latest historical artwork to be targeted by the group, having previously claimed responsibility for , throwing soup at the” Mona Lisa”  , in January and another Monet painting,” Le Printemps“, at the Museum of Fine Arts in Lyon in February.
In an effort to combat injustice, Food Response threw orange powder last month throughout the Baroque Hall of Mirrors exhibition at the Palace of Versailles.
