The child of a Gulf Cartel worker who assisted in the running of a sizable activity in Texas will serve two and a half years in prison for trying to intimidate federal agencies. The agencies were looking for his papa and possible witnesses.
This year, 20- year- ancient Hector” Torito” Reyes Jr. went before Chief U. S. District Judge Randy Crane who sentenced him to 30 months for the cost of obstruction of justice by threatening a national official, information provided to Breitbart Texas by the U. S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas revealed. Torres entered a guilty plea on March 18 to the charges.
” The Gulf Cartel is a brutal and violent business, one that this business seeks to destroy and dismantle”, said U. S. Attorney Alamdar S. Hamdani in a prepared speech. ” But, there is no compassion in my business when thieves, like Reyes, use the cartels to terrify law enforcement and scare testimony. We take for attempts critically and will actively seek those who, through for coercion, seek to undermine our system of justice”.
According to court records, Reyes is the son of Hector” Padrino” Fuentes, a Gulf Cartel technician who helped run a battery in Rio Grande City, Texas, for the legal firm. Reyes is accused of trying to illegally obtain a jaguar cub as a sacrifice to protect a significant drug shipment in one of his accusations.
As part of Operation Ice River, federal agents took action against that organization, which was led by Ignacio” Nacho” Garza and had more than 30 other people behind it. The multicount criminal indictment included Garza’s wife, Rio Grande City’s Secretary Melissa Garza, and local Justice of the Peace Roel” Role” Valadez.
In September 2022, federal authorities tried to arrest Reyes Sr. at his home in Mission, Texas. He had already fled to Monterrey, Mexico, where federal agents claim he was receiving protection from the Gulf Cartel.
Reyes Jr. posted a video on social media in April 2023 that featured various radio stations and a warning about those searching for his father. Reyes Sr. was mentioned in the video that he had the backing of the Gulf Cartel and that those looking for him should step down or else.
Reyes Sr was later detained in Cancun by Mexican authorities, and he was eventually handed over to U.S. authorities. Reyes Jr. and another man spit at one of the witnesses ‘ vehicles during one of the court hearings, telling him to “fear him” and follow him while driving away from the hearing.
Reyes Jr. mentions that his father had ordered the video threats in that jailhouse phone call.
