On Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s” Situation Room”, Rep. Debbie Dingell ( D- MI ) argued that publicly attacking Dr. Anthony Fauci’s credibility is putting him in danger and is” threatening to this region”.
Guest Wolf Blitzer asked,” But, Congresswoman, did Republicans put Dr. Fauci at even more chance now by publicly blasting his reliability”?
Dingell answered,” I’m sure that they did. And we’ve got to take this further, Wolf, what I’m concerned about is how people do n’t trust public health at the local level, at the state level, and the national level. People do n’t want to go into public health. They’re scared of it. They’re scared of the problems, the love, the department that’s out there. And still, it is common heath that keeps us safe. And when COVID started, we did n’t have a lot of answers. We’re investigating a lot of things. I want to make it clear, Dr. Fauci told me back then, and has, over the course of these years, always said, we do n’t know where it came from. He was receptive to a laboratory hole, may have come from animals. When China should have been able to let us enter when we should have been, the Trump administration failed to force that nation into a plan. The public’s lack of confidence in public health officials is alarming and disturbing to this nation.
