Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE ) officials claim that Baltimore County, Maryland, officials aided a convicted illegal alien sex offender in Baltimore County by preventing him from deporting for weeks by suspending his prison sentence and releasing him into the community.
Raul Calderon- Interiano, a 25- yr- ancient Guatemalan nationwide, first arrived at the United States- Mexico frontier near Laredo, Texas, as an unaccompanied mysterious child ( UAC ) in June 2014. Following that, at a later time, Calderon-Interiano received a Notice to Appear (NTA ) in federal immigration court.
The Office of Refugee Resettlement transferred Calderon-Interiano to an child partner in Maryland in November 2014. The next year, in October 2015, a provincial immigration determine ordered , Calderon- Interiano deported from the U. S. after he failed to appear in court.
Calderon- Interiano, though, was no deported, and, in January 2023, the Baltimore County Police Department arrested and charged him with physical abuse of a small, attempted sexual abuse of a small, third- degree sexual offense, third- degree attempted sexual offense, and second- degree assault.
When Calderon-Interiano was charged, ICE officials demanded prison and could request his release from jail at any time.
In April 2024,  , the Circuit Court for Baltimore County convicted , Calderon- Interiano of third- level sexual contact and subsequent- degree assault. He received a sentence of six years in prison and five years of probation.
The judge, though, suspended , Calderon- Interiano’s jail sentence but required him to record as a sexual criminal. Calderon- Interiano was released from jail by the Baltimore County Detention Center, as opposed to handing him to ICE agencies for imprisonment.
On May 29, ICE officials arrested , Calderon- Interiano outside his mansion in Baltimore. He remains in custody pending imprisonment.
