Cruz Perez Cuellar was the leader of the ballot, 3 to 1 ratio, ahead of his closest rival.
The primary vote count gave Cruz Perez Cuellar a 3 to 1 benefit over his closest rivals, so he made the announcement soon on Sunday.
I’m incredibly appreciative that you chose me to serve as your president once more. I’m going to work hard for our favorite city. The change of Juarez did continue”, Cruz Perez Cuellar said Sunday evening.
As of 10: 46 a. m. on Monday, the national vote count of the State Electoral Institute showed Perez Cuellar of the Morena Party back with 182, 869 vote compared to 64, 732 for Rogelio Loya Luna of a three- group coalition ( PAN- PRI- PRD ). Four different candidates split the remaining 50, 000- plus seats with 51.4 percentage of districts counted.
The election in Juarez on Sunday was generally unimportant, with the exception of a few polling places that were delayed or did not even open, as well as the arrest of a man who was allegedly attempting to drive voters to the polls while he was armed with 53 envelopes of money. Eric Ivan E. P., 19, has been charged with political crimes, the Chihuahua state authorities said in a statement.
Perez Cuellar took office in 2021 as Juarez’s business began to recover from the COVID- 19 evacuations. The president has gained a reputation for delivering community events, introducing streets, improving schools, and hosting community events on regular basis in underprivileged neighborhoods. He maintains an El Paso Liaison’s Office as the two frontier settlements share serious financial, community and social relations.
Additionally, he has been questioned about his relations to a former city official who has been under investigation for common fraud. State and municipal police officers made a raid on Perez Cuellar’s home in April and began the legal process to acquire it from Daniel Pando, the property’s owner.
The president claimed that he was only renting the house in the exclusive Campestre community from Pando. He claimed on Sunday that his social rivals have consistently misrepresented him as the subject of the fraud investigation.
The people of this city ignored these fools and came out in great numbers to support me, Perez Cuellar said,” despite all the defamation of this extraordinary grubby political battle.”
Since mid-April, the president has been on leave. Since then, Hector Chaparro, the deputy president, has been in charge of city interests.
Perez Cuellar stated that once the election was over, he would go back to his normal jobs. He may begin serving his second term on October 1.
