DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas addressed the question of whether the provision for alone babies in President Joe Biden’s immigration executive order may allow organizations to profit from that by saying,” We are taking it to the organizations.”
Host Neil Cavuto asked, ]relevant exchange begins around 6: 05 ] “]T] here are a number of exemptions for this, including unaccompanied children. And that gives drug cartels the opportunity to profit from it, which is the whole point of this kind of “blows up in your encounter”?
Mayorkas answered,” Totally never”.
Cavuto then cut in to ask,” But who’s going to watch those unaccompanied children, if they are allowed in, you do n’t ship them back, you do n’t do anything like that. But, where do they go”?
Mayorkas responded,” Neil, we deal with alone children in a charitable way, adhering to our beliefs. We deter unusual movement, we build valid pathways, we have applications for minors”.
Cavuto then cut in to ask,” But this encourages drug cartel to take advantage of those boys, does it not, lord”?
Mayorkas answered,” Neil, we’re taking it to the drug cartel with extraordinary power through our Transnational Criminal Investigative Products, through our Immigration and Customs Enforcement”.
Cavuto then cut in to ask” No, no this is actually a green light for those cartels, is n’t that the fear, that this is actually greenlighting and]they’ll ] say, oh, guys, well, we can use these kids as pawns to get what we want”?
Mayorkas responded,” Neil, let’s be clear, the organizations and smuggling companies are unethical. They exploit people of all different types of threats. We are taking it to the organizations. Because of the powerful charitable portrait they present, we exempted alone kids from this prison bar. We’re going to keep our ideals in mind while implementing strict protection measures, which we have done.
