
Previous President , Donald Trump , joined TikTok, the Foreign- owned system he again tried to embargo in the , U. S., as the presumptive 2024 Republican nominee steps up efforts to reach adolescent voters.
Clean from being convicted in the first legal prosecution of a former , U. S.  , leader, Trump made his debut on the movie- sharing app with a 13- next clip alongside , Ultimate Fighting Championship , CEO , Dana White. ” It’s my honor”, Trump said in the video, which cuts to scenes of fans cheering for him at a UFC fight in , Newark, New Jersey.
Trump, who polls suggest is leading President , Joe Biden , among citizens in most of seven important swing state, has been seeking to change focus away from his situation since last week’s conviction.
He praised a 24-hour fundraising record worth nearly$ 53 million quickly after being found guilty in the New York test. Additionally, he made an announcement about a grass-roots effort to hire participants to survey neighborhoods for the November election.
His main excellent political action committee joined TikTok last month ahead of Trump’s debuting a specific account.

TikTok is suing the , U. S.  , government over the law, which was backed by congressional , Republicans , and Biden in a bid to address concerns that the Chinese government could access user data or influence what’s seen on the app.
According to the company, more than 170 million Americans have accounts on the well-known platform, including many Gen-Z and millennial voters, who both Biden and Trump have been wooing. Young app users who have voted for Biden’s signing of the divest- or- ban law, including some influencers who have backed his reelection campaign, have criticised his decision.
Even though he attempted to compel the sale of the app as president, Trump has criticized Biden’s decision. He claimed in a post on his social media platform in April that he was addressing “especially the young people” and that Biden was “banning TikTok.”
