Three of former presidents of the United States were charged with conspiracy to defraud on behalf of Wisconsin’s attorney general, Josh Kaul ( D).
In the criminal , problem filed on Tuesday, lawyers Kenneth Chesebro and Jim Troupis, along with Michael Roman, a former Trump aide, were each charged with one felony count of fraud for their jobs in attempting to dispute the 2020 presidential election results.
According to a press release from Kaul, the defendants are accused of being a part of a plot to turn over a certificate of claimed electoral votes to people who were n’t Wisconsin’s duly appointed electors. The Wisconsin Department of Justice is “focused on maintaining the integrity of our political process.”
In response to the fees, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers ( D) wrote,” Good”, in a post on X.
In connection with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis ‘ case against Trump, Chesebro and Roman were just two of the 18 Trump supporters, along with the previous president, who were indicted by a Georgia grand jurors in August 2023.
Months after, in October 2023, Chesebro pleaded guilty, a moment after Sidney Powell, a former prosecutor for Trump, took a plea bargain and pleaded guilty for her role in disputing the effects of the presidential election.
In January, Roman filed a motion claiming that Willis had engaged in an “improper” connection with a friend attorney, Nathan Wade, and that Wade’s law company used funds the state paid for in order to get Willis on holiday.
This is in response to grand juries ‘ charges or indictments against alternate electors in state like Arizona, Michigan, and Nevada for their roles in the dispute over the 2020 presidential election’s benefits.
Chesebro, Roman, and Troupis are scheduled to have a judge appearance on September 19, 2024, according to the Hill.
