Last week, a mother turned herself in to the authorities in Festus, Missouri, and admitted to shooting her daughter, age 9, and drowning her son, age 2, in the same incident.
In a press release released on May 28, Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak revealed that a 36-year-old family had eluded arrest and informed police that she had murdered her kids.  ,
According to Marshak, officers discovered the person’s nine-year-old daughter in her car in the parking lot of the police department shortly and with a gunshot wound in her car. He explained that officers attempted existence- saving methods, but it was too soon.  ,
Authorities also dispatched to Timber Creek Resort in a separate Festus city and located the person’s two-year-old kid there. Once more, the soldiers made life-saving attempts but were too soon to save the young child.
While he left the suspect’s label out in his first press conferences, Marshak’s company identified the suspect as Ashley Parmeley on the night of May 28. Although initially charged with second-degree death for her father’s death, the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office later changed the charge to first-degree murder.

According to Fox 8, Parmeley allegedly told police she intended to compromise her two-year-old brother, known as Isaac, according to court documents that were reviewed by Fox 8.
Initially, she allegedly attempted to kill her son in St. Francois County, but she later fatally shot her daughter, Scarlet, as both babies were driving. According to police, Parmeley then began driving northeast with her two children in her car as they recalled that their two-year-old boy was still alive.
According to the court documents, Parmeley allegedly told police that she arrived at Timber Creek Resort and then proceeded to kill her son. The child’s brain was reportedly found in a liquid fountain.
Fox 8 reported there were fears about Parmeley’s emotional wellbeing. Despite claiming to be her main caregiver, Parmeley apparently shared a social media post in 2020 in which she described her problems with depression and said she was “always questioning whether the children had become happier or better off without me being their primary caretaker because I knew they deserved a much better position model.”
