    Ex-Baja governor not ‘ruled out’ in murder of journalist, state attorney general says

    San Diego ( Border Report ) — State Attorney General Mara Elena Andrade Ramrez of the Baja California told reporters on Thursday that former governor. Lourdes Maldonado, a journalist who was shot in front of her Tijuana house more than two years ago, was killed in connection with her death, according to Jaime Bonilla, who has not been identified.

    When she worked for a information firm in Tijuana before he became chancellor, Maldonado and Bonilla, who was her employer, had a bitter feud at the time of her death.

    Maldonado claimed he owed her again wages, and a jury ordered Bonilla to give her, which he claimed he would never do, after years of legal arguments.

    In January 2022, Maldonado&nbsp, was killed in her car after being shot once in the mouth.

    Three defendants were arrested and convicted, all sentenced to 20 years in prison, but the “intellectual artist” of the shooting, has never been named or detained.

    According to Andrade Ramrez, Bonilla has always been questioned, but they have n’t yet interviewed him.

    Since leaving the Baja president’s desk, Bonilla has served as a Baja California lawmaker in Mexico City.

    Andrade Ramez said,” When his term ends on September 1, we’re no ruled out bringing him in for questioning in connection with the Lourdes Maldonado killing.” ” Until the research is finished, all remains a think.”

    Bonilla has often maintained his innocence and has denied any involvement in Maldonado’s death.
