Robert Fico, the prime minister of Slovakia, who was seriously injured in an execution attempt last month, definitely pledged to adhere to his sometimes contentious policies when he returns to work as early as this month.
In his first public comment since the May 15 firing, Fico lambasts opposition politicians and what he describes as the “anti-government advertising.” He said the perpetrator, 71- year- ancient retirement Juraj C., was” a messenger of bad and social hatred”.
In a video released by his office on Wednesday, Fico claimed that it is anticipated that opposition groups, non-governmental companies funded from overseas, and the opposition will begin to dismiss the attempted murder of my life and claim that there are no similarities between the assailant and the criticism.
” If the criticism persists in its present position, the dread of May 15 did continue, and there will be more patients. I have no doubt about that, never for a minute”.
Fico, who has ruled Czech politics since the end of socialism more than 30 years ago, has campaigned to prevent the country’s military aid to Ukraine and threatened to undermine EU support for Kyiv’s government.
In the 14-minute video, Fico accuses” some huge Western democracies” of interfering with domestic Slovak affairs and making attempts to stifle views that were contrary to their own.
In addition to stating that” the right to a different opinion” had vanished from the E.U., Fico continued,” I reject external interference in countries that have chosen to go their own way.”
” Now, there is only one right mind, which is that the war in Ukraine may remain at all costs with the aim of weakening the Soviet Federation”, he said.
” Anyone who disagrees with this statement is immediately identified as a Russian agent and politically marginalized on the international stage.”
Opposition head Michal Simecka expressed sorrow with Fico’s speech.
” The excellent minister blamed the press, the opposition, musicians, the EU, and our foreign companions”, Simecka said in comment distributed by his company. He urged Fico to constantly do” social healing”.
