A top municipal adviser, Timothy Pearson, a senior NYPD domestic affairs official, allegedly pressured an active duty lieutenant to delete his account, which he claims was a result of a fresh lawsuit.
Lt. George Huang is the next police officer, along with two withdrew commanders, to sue Pearson for alleged misconduct in the governor ‘s , Municipal Services Assessment , system. According to sources, the FBI questioned all three of them independently about Pearson during an undisclosed investigation in February and March.
In his lawsuit, which was filed on Thursday, Huang claims that former assistant inspector Joseph Profeta yelled and pounded a desk with his hands to get him to alter Pearson’s testimony during established interviews in August and October of 2023.
” That did not happen” , , Profeta , insisted in the October interview, the suit alleges. ” You never saw this”.
Both Huang’s coalition attorney and a union member, Lt. Kenan Akaydin, who were present, told Profeta his conduct was “unprofessional and rude”, the complaint alleges.
Huang’s complaint against Pearson, Profeta and NYPD Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey follows retired , Sgt. Roxanne Ludemann , who sued March 21, alleging that Pearson caressed her hands about 20 times and finally,  , after she complained, enlisted Maddrey , to find her bounced to four different directions in six weeks.
Retired Sgt. Michael Ferrari sued April 17, claiming after he backed up Ludemann’s claims, Pearson engineered his move into a job dead end at a Queen neighborhood, forcing him to leave.
Huang claims that Pearson got Maddrey on the evening visit in Transit District 20 in Queens after backing him for Ludemann despite the fact that he and his family are also grieving over the death of their seven-year-old child to a deadly heart condition in March 2022.
He continues to work, but he wants to retire at the end of July.
However, on May 31, Profeta was promoted to Inspector in a meeting. He shook hands with Mayor Adams and Police Commissioner Edward Caban,  , movie indicates. Pearson, dressed in a powder orange three- part coat, was seated on stage in the first column.
According to Huang’s attorney John Scola, who likewise represents Ludemann and Ferrari,” It is obvious that the NYPD and City Hall are more interested in protecting Tim Pearson than they are in preventing their people from being sexually harassed or retaliated against at the workplace.”
” Three NYPD bosses confirmed that Pearson created a hostile work environment and a culture of sexual intimidation.” The city has been aware of the abuse for more than a year, has not taken any action, and has allowed those who objected to have their occupations blindly ended.
Additionally, Huang’s complaint asserts that Pearson has been the subject of FBI conversations. According to the lawsuit, an FBI realtor showed up at a minder’s residence on February 26th. Did you work with a guy by the name of Tim Pearson when the unknown representative inquired about MSA?
Huang said indeed, but declined at that point to communicate further out of concern for more retribution, the lawsuit alleges.
According to sources, FBI agents even questioned Ludemann and Ferrari about Pearson, MSA and whether they had witnessed any unlawful behavior in February and March.
The justification for the issues is still unclear.
Nicholas Biase, a spokeswoman for the , U. S. Attorney’s company in Manhattan, declined comment. An FBI spokeswoman did never respond to an email.
The NYPD declined post.
When asked for reply, Kayla Mamelak, a spokeswoman for the mayor, did not respond to certain inquiries about the lawsuit. ” All three lawsuits have been filed by the same lawyer and given to the same writer before filing yet.” We may examine the lawsuit”, she said.
Huang’s petition also recounts Ferrari’s accounts that Pearson, complaining about a profitable immigrant house agreement in October 2022, said,” Do you know how these arrangements work? Folks are doing very well on these deals. I have to find plant. Where are my pieces”?
In 2004, Huang became a member of the NYPD. He was promoted to colonel in 2021 and commander in 2010.
In March 2022, he began working for next Inspector Miltiadis Marmara, then a captain, and followed Marmara to MSA, a product created in May 2022 to analyze the efficiency of town agencies.
Huang’s daughter, born with a heart defect, suffered a severe heart attack and lingered in the hospital in critical condition. Up until the child’s death on March 22, 2022, Marmara visited Huang there every day.
MSA was  , initially overseen by Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Philip Banks  , out of 375 Pearl St. with Pearson officially taking over in October 2022 and moving the unit to Queens.
At the Pearl Street offices. According to Huang, Pearl repeatedly alleged that she had asked Ludemann to be his driver and that she had inquired about her marriage.
” She confided in both the chief and ( Huang ) about the uncomfortable questions which were sexual in nature”, the lawsuit alleges.
After Pearson moved the office to Queens, Marmara stumbled in on Pearson rubbing Ludemann’s arm during a Dec. 1, 2022 Christmas party.
” You should n’t have to navigate harassment”, the chief allegedly said later.
According to the lawsuit, Marmara instructed Huang, Ferrari, and a third male supervisor to not let Pearson and any other employees work alone.
Huang says in the suit he and Ferrari resented as “grown men”, having to “babysit” Pearson.
Marmara was assigned to Brooklyn North after Marmara and Pearson had a heated argument over promotions in April 2023.
Ludemann, Ferrari and Huang asked for transfers following , a meeting with Pearson in which he warned them about leaving. The following day, Huang and Ferrari were ordered to police headquarters to meet with Maddrey after being barred from the MSA offices.
After a private meeting with Pearson, Maddrey told the cops,” You guys are collateral damage” and would be on patrol for the rest of their careers, the lawsuit claims.
All of that led to Profeta’s interviews. The NYPD has yet to make any comment on the investigation.
On May 31, Profeta was promoted in front of many of the mayor’s top aides and commissioners. He will see a roughly$ 10, 000 bump in his base pay.
” Men and women who put on these uniforms, they’re the best of what we have to offer this city”, the mayor said. ” You serve us proud”.
Meanwhile, Huang made the decision to retire at the end of July. He asserts that his pension and salary have been paid more than$ 2 million as a result of Pearson and Maddrey’s actions.
Working midnights does n’t ease his and his wife’s pain over their daughter’s passing.
The NYPD’s inability to accommodate Huang due to his child’s death highlights the agency’s pervasive culture of retaliation, according to Scola.
