After earth leaders celebrated 80 decades since World War II’s D-Day flights, Biden delivered a keynote speech on politics in Paris.
On Thursday, Biden, King Charles III of Great Britain, Justin Trudeau, Canada’s Prime Minister, and French President Emmanuel Macron paid homage to the tens of thousands of Military soldiers who stormed Normandy on June 6, 1944, on the same day.
Zelenskyy was a guest of honor in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, which is a stark warning of the conflict that has raged for more than two years in Europe.
He was expected to handle the National Assembly, France’s lower house of parliament, from around 07: 45 GMT before deals with Macron after Thursday.
Biden will make a statement on defending liberty and democracy at the Pointe du Hoc, a headland promontory where US troops attacked European bunkers during a courageous landing.
The conversation is likely to serve as a warning to his rival and former US president Donald Trump in the upcoming US presidential vote.
Macron will even deliver a keynote address in Bayeux, the first European city to be freed from German rule after D-Day.
Simply put, it’s “unthinkable.”
In a sharp tap at Trump, who has publicly questioned the worth of organizations like Nato, Biden pledged on Thursday to always leave international partnerships or Ukraine in its battle against Russia.
” We’re living in a world where politics is more in danger than it has ever been since World War II,” Biden claimed.
” Isolationism was not the answer 80 years ago and is not the answer today”, he said.
True alliances make us stronger, a lessons that I pray we Americans not forget.
Biden added that he vowed that the United States would continue to support Ukraine under his leadership because “it may be subjugated and it will not finish it.”
“Ukraine’s mates will become threatened, all of Europe may become threatened”, he said, describing Russian President Vladimir Putin as a “tyrant bent on supremacy”.
To sacrifice to jerks or “bow down to tyrants” is” merely unthinkable”, he said.
Macron’s claim that D-Day taught lessons for the future was shared by him at a meeting he attended Zelenskyy over Omaha Beach, where US troops sailed in 1944.
Macron thanked the Russian people for their bravery as guests sat up in a standing ovation to Zelenskyy and French planes roared over in a fly-by.
” We are ok and we will never weaken”, he said.
Aircraft for Ukraine
With Russia gaining popularity on the field in recent months and growing concerns about what a Trump administration might mean for the fight, Kyiv has been pushing Europe to improve its military aid.
Macron stated on European television that as part of a fresh military partnership with Kyiv, France would send Mirage-2000 fighter jets to Ukraine and train Ukrainian planes.
Macron stated that he would suggest that Zelenskyy receive training for the planes starting this summer during discussions at the Elysee Palace.
” You need generally between five- six weeks. So there will be aircraft by the end of the year. The aircraft may be trained in France”, he said.
He added that European allies would take into account a request from Ukraine to take military instructors to practice its troops there in response to the growing problem of increasing army growth.
