
As French President Emmanuel Macron hosted him on a state visit stifled by Kyiv’s struggle against Russia’s war and the looming US poll, President Joe Biden pledged on Saturday that Washington was” standing powerful” with Ukraine.
In a rant against his more separatist election rival Donald Trump, Biden repeatedly stressed the value of America’s Western allies while visiting Normandy earlier this week to level 80 years since D-Day.
Biden insisted that under his principle the United States did not recoil in its support as Ukraine struggled to repel Russian advances over the course of two years of the conflict and was in desperate need of more American military assistance.
After discussions at the Elysee Palace, Biden and Macron both declared,” Putin is not going to quit at Ukraine.”
” All of Europe may be threatened, we are not going to let that happen”, Biden said.
” The United States is standing solid with Ukraine. We will not, I say it once, walk aside”, he added.
In after this year’s presidential elections, Biden, 81, will face his Republican challenger and Trump’s predecessor, which analysts predict will put US democracy under serious scrutiny.
Trump has even expressed his opposition to international organizations, including Nato, and recently claimed that if elected, he would resolve the Ukraine conflict in 24 hours.
Macron, 46, emphasised the cohesion with the United States under Biden and expressed love for his rival’s method to Europe.
” I thank you, Mr President, for being the leader of the world’s number one electricity but doing it with the commitment of a spouse who likes and respects the Europeans”, he said.
He claimed that Tehran and Paris both held the same opinions on Iran, accusing it of “pursuing an increase plan at all levels.”
Our two nations are determined to put the needed pressure on to stop this tendency, he said.
Biden has participated in this week’s celebrations marking the 80th commemoration of the US, British, Canadian, and various foreign soldiers ‘ D-Day flights in northern France since Wednesday, which altered World War II.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who told Biden in a diplomatic appointment on Friday that Kyiv was relying on” shoulder to shoulder” assistance, was even invited to the festivities.
Biden expressed regret over how an assistance package for Ukraine was delayed in the US government, saying,” I wish we could have done it when we wanted to, but we got it done.”
Since Russia unleashed its full-scale conquest of its neighbor in February 2022, the United States and France have been Kyiv’s key supporters.
On a hot Paris June day, the US president met Macron for lunch and had one-to-one conversations at a desk in the Elysee landscapes under a shade.
