HARLINGEN, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — A Harlingen man is being held without bond after he was caught with bundles of cocaine and heroin at the Los Indios Port of Entry, documents allege.
According to documents, Noah Martin Corona was detained on suspicion of possessing with the intention to deliver a controlled substance.
Soon after 7 a. m. Sunday, Corona entered the U. S. in a 2007 Coachman Freelander at the Los Indios Free Trade International Bridge. According to an affidavit, Corona informed police that the car had been in Mexico for two weeks while getting structural job done, and that he was returning home in Harlingen.
During a supplementary inspection, officers found 44 boxes wrapped in brown package audio. Of those, 31 tested positive for heroin and the remaining 13 tested positive for cocaine. The complete weight of the methamphetamine was 77 lbs, and the overall weight of the cocaine was 29 pounds, the report stated.
Authorities searched Corona’s mobile, which showed pictures of massive amounts of cash. Corona recently admitted to being poor and jobless, according to the paperwork.
The Freelander was driven from Brownsville to Atlanta, Georgia on May 20 and returned three days later, according to the petition, which was added by officials who used database software to analyze Corona’s go past.
Moreover, the study revealed that an unidentified girl drove the car into Mexico on May 28 at the Gateway International Bridge.
Corona was taken into custody, and he made his first court appearance on Monday. He is scheduled for a incarceration hearing on Thursday, but he is still detained without bail.
