Apple announced at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference on June 10 that conceptual AI will be available for Siri and apps 18 and mobile OS 18 as well as MacOS Sequoia.
As was rumored, Apple is partnering with OpenAI to provide ChatGPT to iOS, macos and macOS. Apple Intelligence will be a standalone conceptual AI services that is hosted on its own machines, though.
Adding generative capabilities to Siri has the benefit of being well-known, and working with OpenAI means Apple wo n’t have to do all of the work on its own. Apple is betting on conceptual AI to be a seamless addition to the way the Apple habitat may already be organizing a user’s or lawyer’s life.
This drop, apps 18 and iPadOS 18 will be available in beta form for Apple Intelligence. Where Apple’s AI fits in to the competitors
Apple has reportedly chosen to avoid the conceptual AI bot race for the foreseeable future, despite publishing research on mobile device huge language models in December 2023.
