A small craft struck a merchant ship that reported an incident in the Red Sea on Wednesday, according to United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations ( UKMTO ).
Two nautical options, who spoke on condition of anonymity, claimed the vessel had been damaged in an apparent deliberate attack and that the engine room had been damaged.
The incident took place roughly 67.7 nautical miles south of Yemen’s harbor of Hodeidah, European security firm Ambrey said.
Ambrey stated in an advisory word that” the vessel aligned with the Houthi target page at the time of the incident.”
The boat’s Greek director was not quickly available for comment.
Houthi insurgents, who control Yemen’s funds and most popular areas, have been waging counterretaliatory attacks against American and British ships in the Red Sea area since November in cooperation with the Palestinians in the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
