Eight technicians who claim they were improperly fired for raising fears about alleged sexual harassment and discrimination against women filed lawsuits against Rocket creator SpaceX and its CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday. The engineers, who are four women and four men, claim that after publishing a text to the billionaire calling him a “distraction and guilt” and urging executives to abstain from his sexually charged remarks on social media, Musk ordered their blasting in 2022.
According to the lawsuit, Musk’s actions “permeated a pervasively discriminatory society” at SpaceX, where adult engineers were frequently subjected to harassment and discriminatory comments and their issues were ignored. SpaceX has denied any wrongdoing, claiming that the 2022 text was destructive and that the workers were properly fired because of company policies violations.
