Key recordings from a cousin of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito show that the prosecutor lied about the controversial right-wing banners his wife had hoisted at their homes, according to a neighbor.
Emily Baden claimed that comments made while on camera leave no doubt that Martha- Ann Alito purposefully intended to convey social messages by flying an upside-down British flag at their Virginia house after January 6 and a flag frequently used to support Christian nationalism at their Jersey Shore summer residence.
According to Baden,” to hear her talk about the flags in that way only reinforces what we already know, which is that they are meant to convey a particular social message,” Baden said on MSNBC late on Wednesday. ” It makes it clear what she’s doing with the banners”.
When Baden claimed his partner had no particular political axe to grind by hoisting the flags, Baden claimed that Mary- Ann Alito’s off-the-cuff remarks prove her strong husband was n’t being truthful when she got into a residential shouting match with the Alitos in 2021 over her own anti-Trump yard indication.
” That just proves us all right that … he’s lying when he said: ‘ We do n’t have any reason behind it ( and ) we do n’t know what it means,'” the neighbor said.
Mary- Ann Alito was caught on camera making sharp remarks that were made by a progressive advocate acting as a traditional judicial activist.
Anyone who cares to look at the jurist’s wife’s confession to using controversial people flags to convey what she believes are powerful right-wing messages.
” I had to look at a confidence flag across the lake to make sure I’m sending them a message each time. According to Martha- Ann Alito,” I might become changing the flag every month,” in reference to the so-called Appeal to Heaven flag that she erected at their holiday home.
Her reason falls short of Samuel Alito’s say in a letter to Congress that his wife was never trying to make any social statement by raising the colors.
Justice Alito claimed that he demanded that his wife remove the upside-down symbol weeks after the Capitol attack on January 6, but he would never specify why if the couple had no idea what it meant.
The Alitos ‘ home’s upside-down flag, according to reviewers, raises concerns about his impartiality as a lawyer and suggests that he supports former president Donald Trump. They say Alito if recuse himself from hearing Jan. 6- related scenarios.
Alito has refrained from making those claims, saying in a text to politicians that no reasonable person would believe that the colors raise legitimate concerns.
Even though his own family, Ginni Thomas, a well-known liberal activist who pushed the previous leader to fight for his survival after he lost the 2020 election to President Joe Biden, the fellow right-wing Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has even refused to move away from Trump election situations.
