President Joe Biden reaffirmed his commitment to not forgive him on Thursday and blasted speculation that he might ride Hunter Biden‘s statement to avoid jail time.

The government’s remarks come after Hunter Biden was found guilty of felony gun charges on Tuesday, which he described as a fair trial, in his first on-camera comment on the subject. His quick response to the ruling confirmed his decision to not forgive his son, keeping all promises made by White House representatives.

On Thursday night in Italy’s fringes of the G7 leaders conference, Biden, along with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, posed questions to reporters. The two countries had only announced a new 10-year bilateral security deal between the United States and Ukraine, which was widely seen as a step toward allowing Ukraine to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

” I’m really proud of my brother Hunter. He has overcome an obsession. He’s one of the brightest, most wonderful men I know, and I am pleased”, Biden responded when asked if he believes Hunter received a good test. ” I’m not going to accomplish something. I said I would abide by the jury’s choice, and I will do that, and I did not forgive him”.

Biden also responded to questions from reporters “no” after the press conference about whether a clemency for Hunter was on the board.

Also, one questioned whether Biden intended to commutate his sentence in order to prevent his son from serving jail time.

Hunter Biden’s sentencing date has not been determined, and White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and Judge Maryellen Noreika declined to comment on Wednesday whether the senator was considering commuting his word.

She said at the moment,” I have not spoken to the president about this, and what I’m saying is that he was asked about a pardon.” ” He was asked about the trial particularly, and he answered it quite plainly. Beyond what the president said, I do n’t have anything.

Biden’s remarks can be seen in total below.
