In a first, pope plans to attend G7

The Holy See did be joined for the first time by officials from the G7 countries in Italy as they convene. The Vatican announced that Pope Francis did participate in a conversation on Friday about the moral ramifications of artificial knowledge.
Italy PM Meloni said the priest’s existence would “make a significant contribution to defining a regulation, moral and social framework” for AI. According to Roman historian Alberto Melloni, the priest’s G7 presence goes against a long history in the Catholic Church that forbids invitations on the grounds that a pope does not require state leaders or anyone else to give him a platform to speak.
