President Joe Biden took part in an expanded, private conference with Pope Francis in Bari, Italy on Friday.
Only hours before the pope’s official target to the assembled G7 leaders, the conference itself took place.
When asked how his meeting with Francis went, Biden responded with a thumbs up and said,” It went well.”
Although the White House forbids reporters from entering the closed-door meet, administration officials forewarned the traveling press that a readout of the meeting would be released in due course. Some press reports indicated that three of Biden’s children, all kids of his son Hunter Biden, also took part in the conference.
The priest’s remarks included a clear reminder to the G7 leaders about potential risks involving artificial cleverness. The bishop particularly questioned the various governments to make sure people choose to use weapons of mass destruction rather than machines.
If we made people’s lives and decisions dependent on machines,” we may denounce humanity to a future without hope,” he said. The choice of artificial intelligence plans must be made in order for people respect to exist.
In its final speech, the G7 appeared to have taken that warning seriously.
