God makes Jesus Christ the ONE and only living God that God makes pretty clear to his kids.
A student at Howard University recently posted a public resignation letter that claimed she no longer had any involvement with her new college and claimed that the ceremony’s induction service made her feel like she basically worshipped a false God, which is a violation of her Christian belief.
In a two-page text she posted to her Instagram accounts in May, pupil Zora Sanders criticized Delta Sigma Theta, a college. In recent days, The College Fix requested comment on the discussion from Smith and frat representatives, but neither they did.
Smith, in her notice, described herself as a rising older at Howard and a former part of its Delta Sigma Theta section, writing she “renounced and , denounced” her account.
Delta Sigma Theta is a generally dark Greek- lettered college, founded in 1913 at Howard. It was established to support the African American community and promote intellectual quality, but it is accessible to people of all races. Its net states users work to promote commitment to public support, academic excellence, and sisterhood.
In her statement, Sanders described the mysterious induction ceremony, writing she was required to “go to a royal table, sit over, and recite two distinct oaths– regarding my today, life- time commitment to Delta Sigma Theta”.
The vow states in piece she agrees to commit to the college “until last view” and you “never get freed”, quoting from the organization’s ritual book. The Bible contains passages that instruct followers to not swear an oath to any demonized gods, according to Sanders.
She wrote,” God makes it very clear to his children that there is only one life God, and that is Jesus Christ.”
Smith also expressed concern about the sorority’s mention of the Greek goddess Minerva, citing a lamp that was burned at the temple during the meeting.
” The lamp is burned to reflect what the queen Minerva represents”, she wrote. ” Centering fake gods/deities, in this case, the princess Minerva, as the basis of an organization and introduction of its new people, is a type of worship”.
“…This sudden emphasis on Minerva conflicted with my private values, as I do not acquire knowledge from the queen Minerva”, Sanders wrote, adding that she also learned later, after the meeting, that an image of Minerva is part of the organization’s crest and established symbol.
” As a Christian, I do n’t affiliate, partake, or wear anything that is symbolic of any other deity that is not God, including the Greek goddess”, Sanders wrote.
Sanders also alleged that during the first chapter meeting, the president of the sorority opened with Bible verses and Psalms that were “manipulated” and “misconstrued” in order to fit a more” Delta version”. This, the student wrote, is another “huge non- negotiable”.
Significant controversy has arisen over Sander’s denigration on social media. It was uploaded to Instagram on May 20 by Sanders. Since then, it has amassed 20, 000 likes and over 6, 000 comments, some of which praise her, others that condemn the stance, and others that say she exaggerated the situation.
Some even accused her of posting it to promote herself and money. Some claim that using Minerva as the mascot and symbol is comparable to using an eagle in America.
Some Delta Sigma Theta members are upset that their secret rituals were made public. One comment reads:” No hate, but please delete! I do n’t appreciate the public seeing our sacred information because I’m a Delta Sigma Theta member.
Writing for National Review, Abigail Anthony argued that the “irony is that insisting the sorority’s ‘ rituals’ are’ sacred’ only reinforces Sanders’s argument that they contravened Christian faith”.
What’s more,” some suggested that Sanders should have’ done better research’ before joining the sorority. However, how could she have compared her feelings toward the initiation sacraments before enlisting if they were actually secret?
However, there are also a significant number of comments rallying in support of Sanders. One person said,” I will never understand why people are so upset by someone else’s decision to follow their own desires.”
Another defender wrote,” It’s the Lord we have to answer to”. Sanders was further urged to” stand on what you said,” and Sanders was urged to do the same.
