
An , NYPD , officer was blasted in the legs at a , New Jersey  , motel earlier Thursday by a suspect in a recent , Manhattan , killing who was then shot dead by officers, law enforcement sources said.
A , New Jersey  , police officer was also wounded during the , 12: 30 a. m.  , fight at the , Raritan Hotel , on , King Georges Post Road , in , Woodbridge Township, officials said.
The 46- yr- old assailant was driving through , New Jersey  , when his car was pinged by a license plate reader in connection with a , June 7 , shooting at the East River Houses in , East Harlem , that left a 29- year- old man thoroughly wounded, police sources said. According to authorities, that sufferer was shot in the head and is still recovering at New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell.
After the disk was detected,  , New Jersey  , police alerted police from NYPD Manhattan North Homicide, who joined local police in tracking the vehicle to the resort.
During the walk off, the shooter’s partner came out of a hotel room and confronted authorities. The assailant came out and opened fire on the officers as they were being spoken to her.
During the altercation, police fatally shot the shooter. His brand was not immediately made public as police searched for community members.
The assailant had an target in , Pocono Lake, Pa., as well as the , Bronx, authorities said.
His girl was taken into custody. Costs against her were pending.
Both injured officials are expected to make their recovery.
NYPD , officials, as also as , New Jersey State Troopers , and officers from police agencies in , Woodbridge Township , and Edison, were involved in the fight, state authorities said.
