Sen. John Fetterman was “at fault” for a new car accident in Maryland, where he was found to be speeding before rear-ending a second car on Sunday, according to a Maryland State Police statement.
The Pennsylvania Democrat, his family, Gisele, and the other vehicle, a lady from Pennsylvania, were sent to the hospital after the crash, which occurred around 7: 45 a. m. Sunday. Both cars — Fetterman’s Chevrolet Traverse and the person’s Chevrolet Impala— were towed after Fetterman reportedly passed the person’s vehicle at a “high rate of speed, well over the posted speed limit”.
Fetterman underside- ended her vehicle just before the return for I- 68 in Hancock, Maryland, between Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The speed control it is 70 mph.
Fetterman and his family were evaluated at a nearby doctor “out of an abundance of precaution”, according to a statement issued Monday by Carrie Adams, the president’s director.
The extent of the damage described in the police statement as “disabling” for both events.
Fetterman was treated for a damaged back, and the pair was discharged Sunday evening, Adams said. Sunday was the Fettermans ‘ 16th wedding celebration,  , according to the junior senator who posted Monday night about the accident.
No quotes were issued and the Maryland State Police is investigating. Both Fetterman and the girl were not subject to any drinking or drug testing.
The Inquirer’s request for comment was not immediately responded to a spokeswoman for Fetterman on Wednesday.
