The spouse of a man who was killed earlier this week when he was electrocuted in a spa at a private beach in Puerto Peasco, Mexico, has filed a wrongful death complaint against three businesses that allegedly run the hotel.
Jorge Guillen, 43, was killed and his family, Lizzette Zambrano, 35, suffered life- disturbing accidents at the Sonoran Sea Resort on June 11, according to the General Prosecutor’s Office for the State of Sonora. The lawsuit was filed in El Paso County’s city court, where Guillen and Zambrano both reside.
A lawsuit filed on behalf of Zambrano and Guillen’s estate seeks$ 1 million “including damage of any kind, penalties, court fees, costs, and judgment attention”, according to the complaint obtained by KTSM.
The lawsuit was filed against three firms — Casago LLC of Houston, Casago International of Scottsdale, Arizona, and High Desert Travel, even of Scottsdale.
The plaintiff claims that no accused employees treated or resolved any issues with the electrical wiring in the tub on the premises.
The spa, according to the lawsuit, did not provide a sign or any see that it constituted a “deadly hazard.”
The plaintiff claims that defendants “broke their duty of common care” by failing to maintain the premises properly and/or maintaining the condition in a relatively safe manner.
The lawsuit is seeking damages for pain and suffering, loss of income, mental anguish, medical expenses, loss of compassion, and funeral and burial fees, among others.
