In response to allegations that the charity is a” hoard home” supporting illegal immigrants, the state tried to shut its doors on Monday in court.
Following the government’s effort to gather a swathe of information that the house has fought, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is asking a judge to halt the charity’s activities. Paxton accuses the sanctuary of promoting illegal immigration and preventing law enforcement from making arrests for illegal immigrants.
According to Paxton, “any non-governmental organization ( NGO ) that facilitates the unlawful entry of illegal aliens into Texas is undermining the rule of law and potentially jeopardizing the safety and welfare of our citizens,” ” All NGOs should take themselves on see if they are accomplices in Joe Biden’s illegal immigration disaster and believe they are above the regulation.”
Annunciation House’s prosecutor accused the attorney general of violating the foundation’s religious liberty, subjecting them to unreasonable search and seizure, and making false claims to make bad press about” conflict” on the frontier.
” What the Attorney General is trying to do here is wrong,” said Jerry Wesevich, a lawyer for Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid. ” We’re talking about the fundamental teaching of Jesus: like one another, no exceptions. If that does not find shelter, what does? This is an assault on spiritual freedom, time”.
Wesevich argued that Annunciation House helps prevent people from entering the country who are already there. He called it” the best of the Catholic faith.”
Within the next two months, Democratic District Judge Francisco X. Dominguez informed the events.
