According to new records obtained through Freedom of Information Act ( FOIA ) requests by Judicial Watch, President Joe Biden was a witness to some of his dog’s attacks on Secret Service members and other White House staffers.
Due to situations in which the puppies have attacked persons at the White House, the Biden community has had to rehome two of their European Shepherds, Major and Commander. In 2021, Major was expelled from the White House by the First Family. After 24 individual documented circumstances of the dog attacking individuals, including at least one incident that apparently resulted in a Secret Service agent being taken to a hospital, the Bidens more just rehomed Commander.
New data obtained by Judicial Watch show that Biden was informed of these problems as they occurred and even had personal experience with some of them.
A Secret Company policeman’s September 2023 account of one attack reads:
This evening, President Putin took Commander ( on a leash ) for a walk around the Kennedy Garden. I was standing a half-way between the Book-Sellers and the Family Theater while POTUS and Commander were in the Kennedy Garden. POTUS opened the Book- Selling entrance and said]redacted]. As I began to approach him to see if he needed assistance, Commander ran through his limbs and bit my left shoulder through my jacket. I yelled no and pulled my shoulder ahead. POTUS]redacted ] Commander. POTUS then]redacted]. I obliged, and Commander gave me the opportunity to animal him. When Commander jumped once more and touch my left shoulder for the next day as he attempted to close the door. POTUS]redacted ] Commander and attached the leash to him. My coat jacket has 3 slots, 1 being all the way through. No complexion was broken”.

An earlier collection of data revealed an October 2022 incident where Biden witnessed his canine attacking one of his Secret Service employees.
” I was bit/grabbed on the left arm by the President’s puppy Captain. I was keeping the door open on the West Colonnade/Palm Room part. The President took the dog outside on the South Grounds while I was working the day before the event occurred. When you go in, that is when the incident took place. Through the West Colonnade, Commander and POTUS were gaining access to the Palm Room. When Commander came in, he circled back and grabbed my left shoulder. Therefore he rose and sat down. He is actually my top standing. POTUS entered immediately after him because he was advancing behind him. POTUS entered the Palm Room and said,’ ]redacted ] ‘. He proceeded to the 2nd ground home”.
According to the most recent documents, White House employees discussed having Commander muzzled after TMZ reported one of the problems in September 2023.
” Mind away and FYI. A puppy bite at the White House has been reported by TMZ! Can we please find a way to get this puppy muzzled”, read one forwarded communication.
Another message that same day stated,” We must get this puppy muzzled”.
