There have been two competing records of what is happening with the southern border and the immigration process since President Joe Biden took company. The second, via the Biden administration, is that everything is more or less under control — there has just been a little rise of workers entering the country. The view from Texas, however, is that border security is compromised, thousands of workers are crossing the border illegally, and the multiculturalism system is broken.  ,
Unlike many political controversies, only one of these accounts is correct and does n’t require a certain political ideology to be convincing. The conflict that has come along since 2021 can be seen from a close examination of the figures, a border visit, and a review of the policies in place.
Biden’s fraudulent professional get
Biden suddenly realized it was a problem after three years of essentially ignoring the problems at the Texas-Mexico borders. It certainly is to citizens. According to a Gallup poll conducted in February, 28 % of Americans believe emigration to be a significant issue.  ,
On June 4, Biden issued an executive order that exhibited complacency and deceiving.  ,
In a statement announcing the attempt, the White House stated that” President Biden believes we had protected our border.” He announced professional orders immediately to prevent illegal immigrants who cross our southern border from receiving prison for this reason. When, as is currently the case, higher levels of contacts at the Southern Border will result in these activities. They will ease the burden on our Border Patrol agents by allowing immigration officers to remove those who do n’t have a legal basis to remain.
Biden does n’t just suggest he’ll fix the border but says it was Congress’s problem all along. He’s just then intervening. Biden has always been able to change borders plan. In truth, he did so at the very end of his career. Trump’s” Be in Mexico” plan was ended, border wall construction was halted, and Title 42 was no longer used. Under Trump, refugees who entered improperly were, generally, immediately deported — not so under the Biden administration.  ,
It did n’t take long for border statistics to reflect Biden’s changes. Migrant bridges had risen a tad in 2019, but from 2009 to 2019, regular migrant encounters stayed under 75, 000, often yet below 50, 000. In April 2020, under Trump, simply 16, 182 workers were encountered that month. According to the Pew Research Center, December 2023 saw a history: 250, 000.
In truth, since Biden’s career began, nearly 8 million workers have attempted to cross or crossed the southern borders, and over half of them are already in the U. S. This is more than the groups of 36 state.
Enter, Texas
The Biden government’s border- related shifts created a major concern for the U. S. but most quickly for the state of Texas. Gov. Greg Abbott ( R- TX ) had no patience for Biden’s “hollow” executive order, responding in a statement:  ,  ,
” Today’s statement is nothing but a diversion for President Biden’s failed open border policies. This executive order will only serve to intensify an invasion of our nation, which would otherwise only lead to the daily crossing of the frontier by thousands of unscreened illegal immigrants.
Abbott continued to criticize Biden for “dismantling all of his counterpart’s effective border plans, encouraging thousands of illegal immigrants into our state, including dangerous criminals and terrorists.”
This does n’t mean all migrants who come to the U. S., whether legally or illegally, are coming to wreak havoc. Most are no. But in governmental 2023 together, Border Patrol encountered 169 known or suspected jihadists attempting to cross the southern border, a report.
Americans are suffering the consequences, according to Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX ) in a statement in support of H. R. 2, the Secure the Border Act, which Democrats in the Senate have so far failed to pass.  ,
The demise of Laken Riley is one of those consequences.  ,
Riley, a 22- year- ancient school scholar at Augusta University in Georgia, was murdered in February while on a work on the University of Georgia campus. Her alleged killer, Jose Ibarra, a immigrant from Venezuela,  , came to the U. S. improperly in 2022 and had been arrested in 2023 in New York City. Riley’s dad has said officially he did not like his sister’s death used socially, but such an instance is hard to ignore. There are others, such as the history of Rachel Morin, a mother of five. Morin’s murder and death were brought to justice in June by an improper immigrant from El Salvador.  ,  ,
Despite this, Abbott’s office says that owing to his Operation Lone Star, which he launched in 2021 with the Department of Public Safety to defend the frontier with additional personnel and barriers and capture immigrants, illegal border crossings in Texas are down 74 %. Texas has contributed more than$ 11 billion in taxpayer funds to Operation Lone Star, according to Abbott spokesman Andrew Mahaleris.  ,
Biden’s border interference
There are only two ways to enter the U. S.: legally, through a port of entry and with a valid asylum claim, or illegally. Due to the fact that the Biden administration has been able to obstruct both, his most recent attempts to impose order at the border seem like a sham.  ,
Right now, there are 2 million asylum cases pending. Illegal migrant encounters have increased dramatically. For fiscal 2022, there were a record 2.4 million migrant apprehensions at the border, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.  ,
The state of Texas does not have the authority to enforce immigration law. That’s CBP. The Texas Department of Public Safety has a limited ability to handle illegal entry, especially if there are children among the groups.  ,
I traveled to the border in February to report for a regional Texas paper, and I watched both unfold. In Eagle Pass, Texas, a slow, steady stream of migrants waited on a bridge at a legal port of entry to cross into the U. S.  ,
In contrast, I watched as a few migrants with children and one group of young people crossed the Rio Grande and attempted to crawl through the concertina and razor wire that the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard members had installed as a deterrent throughout the course of the day.  ,
Two small groups of adults traveling with children were not arrested while I was traveling with them, along with Christopher Olivarez, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety in the South Texas region. A gallon-sized plastic bag of belongings was hurled through the sharp fencing by an older man and two elementary-aged children. Having traveled, the older man with gray- white hair said, all the way from Colombia, he was heading another 2, 000 miles northeast, to New York.
Late in the day, I watched as a third group, with several young people in their early 20s and one 17- year- old, waded across the Rio Grande in a raft of sorts. Even as a member of the Texas National Guard said in Spanish that they would be detained for trespassing, they shivered from the cold but refused to attempt to squeeze through the wire. They kept trying.
In 2023, the Texas legislature passed a law, S. B. 4, which would make it possible for local authorities to detain migrants who cross the border illegally. Even though it was obvious the law was more proof that the state of Texas bears an undue burden to maintain order at the border, it sparked national debate.  , The Biden administration, among other organizations, sued Texas to stop the law, claiming S. B. 4 is unconstitutional.  ,  ,

Last July, the Department of Justice, at Biden’s direction, sued Abbott over his efforts to secure the border by deploying marine barriers on the Rio Grande — a common, dangerous crossing point for migrants where several have drowned.  ,
The Biden administration tries to stop them whenever Texas attempts to implement new strategies or laws to keep the world order at all times. The administration’s turn around and claim that Biden is finally trying to keep the border safe is untrue at best and that he has a history of suing Texas for doing so, is another illustration of how Biden has failed the border at worst.
