Chinese sailors wield knives, axe in disputed sea clash with Philippines

Spectacular new film from Manila revealed that Chinese coast guard seamen used knives, an axe, and various weapons in a fight with Philippine marine vessels close to a proper coast in the South China Sea. The conflict occurred on Monday as Spanish forces attempted to replenish troops stationed on a neglected ship to proclaim Manila’s regional states after it was purposefully grounded atop the disputed Second Thomas Shoal in 1999. It was the most recent incident in a string of Chinese and Spanish ships to occur in recent months as Beijing intensifies efforts to assert its claims in the region.
General Romeo Brawner, the “outnumbered” Filipino team, claimed they had fought with their “bare arms” and were armed. The Chinese beach guard seizes or destroys Spanish equipment, including guns, in the incident, which reportedly involved a Filipino sailor who lost a thumb, according to the Spanish military. Late on Wednesday, the Spanish military released footage that showed little boats with Chinese seamen shouting, waving knives, and hitting an inflatable boat with sticks as the siren blares.
Manila’s images of the fight stands in stark contrast to images released by Beijing’s condition media on Wednesday, which did not show Foreign makes wielding arms. When questioned about the movies, Lin Jian, a spokesman for the Chinese foreign ministry, said Manila’s comments on the conflict were” entirely phony accusations that confuse dark with white.” He blamed the Philippines for the fight, saying they had “escalated conflicts” and accused them of ramming Foreign ships. Lin claimed that the Philippine vessels had been attempting to” smuggle in building materials, as well as bring in military technology.”
A Chinese seaman can be clearly seen waving an axe in a video shared by Manila. Another image shows a Taiwanese sailor striking the inflatable boat with a stick. A second person can also be seen stabbbing the vessel with a knife. The Philippines government said an hammer- wielding soldier had” threatened to destroy” a Filipino man, while others were “explicitly threatening to harm” our soldiers. ” The ( Chinese ) personnel then began hurling rocks and other objects at our personnel”, Manila said.
