Since the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson in 2022, that there is no legal right to abortion, has been passed in every state that supports pro-life legislation to assist pregnant women, postpartum mothers, and babies.

Twenty-seven states whose new abortion restrictions were made legal by the Dobbs decision were evaluated in a new report from the Ethics and Public Policy Center’s ( EPPC ) Life and Family Initiative, entitled” Two Years After Dobbs.”

It will take years to create an authentic pro-life America. But states may buttress the unique work of charities, churches, and no- profits by investing in programs that support moms during pregnancy, make life a much easier for families, and ensure younger children get the healthful start they need”, wrote Patrick T. Brown, author of the report and EPPC fellow.” ‘ The phrase” Two Years After Dobbs” is used to highlight that while more needs to be done, states are acting in favor of legislation that both protect and meaningfully support the pregnant, their mothers, and their people.

State regulations has included extended Medicaid coverage, care subsidies, funding into pregnancy resource centers, paid parental left, expanded testing for postpartum depression, and expanded eligibility for security online services. According to the statement, some states increased funding” to the rhythm of tens of millions of dollars yearly.”

This knowledge challenges the recurring state of the pro- pregnancy movement, which accuses pro- life activists of “hypocrisy” and a failure to expand their pro- life care beyond pregnancy.

Numerous politicians and media outlets claimed that pro-life activists have no interest in improving the well-being of women and children beyond reducing the violence of abortion following the news that the Supreme Court would overturn Dobbs.

” Their appalling attack on reproductive rights is nothing more than blatant hypocrisy”, Rep. Frederica Wilson, D- Fla., wrote in an op- ed for the Miami Herald,” I often hear my Republican colleagues claim to be’ pro- life.’ However, they do n’t mind until the baby is born. Then they vanish and leave the children they claim to protect.

In The Nation’s piece entitled” The So- Called” Pro- Life Movement Could n’t Care Less About the Living,” columnist Katha Pollitt wrote”, Abortion opponents claim to be advocates for the unborn. But they do n’t lift a finger to help families facing hardship.”

Conservative politicians are sometimes accused of being pro-life up until the baby is born, according to Catherine Rampell, a Washington Post columnist. But perhaps even that assessment is too generous.”

According to Brown, charges like these are typical but inaccurate. &nbsp,

According to Brown,” I think that’s always been a pretty easy attack line for the left,” he said in a Thursday interview with The Federalist. I do n’t think it’s true. Now, I think there’s a lot of people who care very strongly about moms and babies.”

The report also acknowledges the efforts of pro-life organizations, religious organizations, and pregnancy resource centers, which provided more than$ 300 million in support to pregnant mothers and their children in 2022. Brown calls these organizations the “backbone of the pro-life movement” and insists that state governments are tying in. &nbsp,

” We’re in a new era … it’s time for us to put our money where our mouth is in terms of being pro- life,” Brown said”. I do believe that is becoming apparent at the state level and that we will continue to push for it.
