Every once in a while, story gives us a second chance.  ,
The numerous problems and misinformation that caused the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon taught us important lessons about the world we live in and how incredibly resilient we are in the United States to poor players looking for body.

Apathy is a deadly disease that can lead to drama that is too painful to bear, which is one of the most important lessons we learned from that awful day. We received numerous instructions about Osama bin Laden, al-Qaeda, and their crazed desire to attack the United States. Most notable was CIA Director George Tenet’s tenth testimony before Congress about the al-Qaeda danger and Osama bin Laden from the time he took company in 1997.
Michael Morell, a previous CIA Deputy Director, noted Tenet’s Herculean efforts to inform us that an attack was imminent in a letter to Graham Allison, a Harvard professor, on June 10.  ,
In February 1999, six months after the group bombed the U. S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, he claimed,” There is not the slightest doubt that Osama bin Laden…]is ] planning further attacks against us”. He once more warned Congress in early 2000 that al Laden was” the most prominent terrorist in the world” because of his ability to strike “without more caution” and the immediate urgency and sincerity of his danger.
Tenet was n’t the only one, of course. Osama bin Laden was going to harm us, according to some members of the government. But on September 11, 2001, America bestrode the earth as the only remaining powerhouse. We were invincible, invisible, many in the White House thought.  ,
The inspiration behind those who ignore the most recent terrorist warnings is that they are terrified of identifying Muslims as criminal suspects. If Joe Biden were to identify the very real danger of Muslim radicals entering the United States through our amorphous Southern border, the social cost outweigh any potential threat to the safety of American residents. Thus far, the Biden administration has not commented.

Eight Muslim radicals who are suspected of having ties to ISIS slowly entered the country a few months ago and sought prison along with thousands of other illegal aliens. And like thousands of illegal aliens, they were processed, given a judge time, and given their independence.
Why were they around?
At least some of the Tajik citizens had used explicit language from outside the US, according to three officials, despite the lack of any conclusive proof that the US intelligence could use to track their contacts.
According to sources, that revelation sparked a burst of disaster investigative efforts by federal agents and analysts all over the country, including physical and technological surveillance of the men. This counterterrorism operation is evocative of the years immediately following 9/11, when the FBI conducted several homemade plot investigations.
The Terrorism Warning Lights Are Blinking Red Again: Echoes of the Run-Up to September 11th, a title that former CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell gave to his foreign affairs article suggests that history may be allowing us to have a second chance.
Given the particular vulnerability of the southern border, Morell wrote,” Biden’s recent executive order to restrict asylum processing is a valuable step toward limiting entry to the United States.”

The government will need to take additional action, including the use of national emergency authorities, to ensure that terrorists are not exploiting this overwhelmed channel to enter the country, according to the authors. U.S. Customs and Border Protection has reported close to 200, 000 encounters with migrants at this border each month so far in 2024.
” ]FBI Director Christopher ] Wray has repeatedly drawn attention to security gaps at the United States ‘ southern border, where thousands of people each week enter the country undetected”, Morell and Graham noted.  ,
Like Tenet telling Congres in the lead- up to 9/11 about our vulnerabilities, Wray has been sounding the alarm about the wide- open Southern border for years.
Morell wrote that” several individuals on the United States ‘ terrorist watch list attempted to enter the country via the southern border last year.” It’s not difficult to imagine someone, or even a group, crossing a border with the intention of harming another person or group, who has been reported to have had 2.5 million encounters with migrants in 2023, purchasing assault rifles and carrying out a massive massacre. There are plenty of locations in the United States where hundreds, if not thousands, of people regularly gather, and they may all serve as easy targets for those who want to incite terrorism.

An uncomfortable but unavoidable conclusion is drawn by the stated intentions of terrorist groups, the growing capabilities they have demonstrated in recent successful and unsuccessful attacks around the world, and the fact that several serious plots in the United States have been foiled.
” Put simply, the United States faces a serious threat of a terrorist attack in the months ahead”, Morell added.
If we’re attacked again, the reaction will be more detrimental to American liberty than the 9/11 attacks.  ,
We’ve been warned. But is anyone listening?
