What do conservative talk radio hosts Dana Loesch, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and Erick Erickson all have in common? Audacy, the second-largest television network in the nation, airs all of their displays. If “progressive” billionaire George Soros as the man who owns their radio is granted the cancellation he wants from the Democrat-controlled FCC, they’ll also have in common.

The actual- world Bond villain/philanthropist of bad creates took a$ 415 million stake in Audacity in February of this year, which In Radio called” the latest work in the liberal banker’s internet opportunities”. The Audacy package is not his first land get in the music industry, according to the industry paper. In addition to taking a majority stake in radio business Crooked Media, Soros Fund Management was also one of several , investors in Latino Media Network, which purchased 18 television stations in 10 key markets– including New York, Los Angeles, and Miami – from TelevisaUnivision a time ago”.
Soros made his first move to take control of the bank’s 227 television stations in 45 internet businesses across the country with 165 million regular audiences when Audacity filed for bankruptcy in January. He swooped in to get up their debt cheaply, paying only 50 cents on the dollar. One of those channels is specific to me, KMOX 1120- AM in St. Louis. I spent my entire childhood listening to the news-talk powerhouse, and I actually interned it in 1988, where I studied writing and broadcasting from respected old-school writers like Bob Hamilton.  ,
How much do you believe that man will allow all of those traditional television stations to operate? Stacy Washington, the number of the traditional talk show, asked at the time.

In 2023, Soros also bought Vice Media and Crooked Media, but he wo n’t have to make any changes to them, not even their names.  ,

Audacity’s foe iHeart Media owns more television stations than Audacity does, but the majority of them are spread out among smaller businesses, and, as far as I can tell, iHeart is n’t openly left- aircraft like all Soros controls.  ,
Here’s where stuff actually get sticky.
Before Soros can take control of Audacity, Soros Fund Management needs assistance from the FCC, according to a report released on Tuesday in the New York Post. The income that is being sourced from abroad is used to purchase Audacity. According to recent legislation, “foreign company ownership of U.S. radio stations is not permitted to exceed 25 %,” but a filing obtained by The Post details Soros “requesting the payment to make an exemption.”
Soros is apparently leaning difficult on the FCC for assent, but, at least officially, the committee remains kid.
Dana Kennedy and Lydia Moynihan warned in that same New York Post narrative that Loesch’s, Levin’s, et cetera. If the businessman imposes his mission, as has happened with other internet acquisitions, then his influence is likely to diminish. The FCC must conduct its whole and usual evaluation process, according to Republican FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr, who added,” When it comes to a spread place consolidation of this dimension and magnitude – hundreds of radio stations across more than 45 markets.”

Any willingness from the Biden administration to quickly implement a plan that might quiet a few critics would come as no surprise to this jaded columnist. But this story has yet to play out, so let’s see what happens.
In the meantime, did you know that the FCC has a toll- free number for filing complaints? Perhaps they need to know how you feel about a Soros purchase.  ,
