According to royal expert Tom Quinn, Prince Harry has safety issues when he travels to the UK.
The Duke of Sussex described the extraordinary measures he and Meghan Markle took during their early marriage in his guide Spare.
Quinn’s emphasis on Harry’s ongoing legal battle with the British government over their inability to provide for his security was reflected in his concern for the difficulties he encountered during his visits.
Harry’s dislike of hotels, according to Quinn, was brought on by a prior trip when he had to arrive and depart “virtually in disguise.” The Duke’s problems are amplified when staying with companions, as he believes the internet continuously monitors his movements.
Harry lost a defeat earlier this year in his legal challenge with the Home Office regarding his taxpayer-funded shelter while living in the UK. Following his departure from his full-time royal duties, the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures ( Ravec) made the decision to alter his level of security.
Harry’s lawyers argued that he was” singled out” and treated “less favourably” in the decision to change his personal security funding. They claimed that the view was “unlawful and unfair” because they failed to carry a risk evaluation and take into account the effects of a” successful assault” against him.
The jury heard that Harry believes his babies, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, may feel at home in the UK if their security cannot be guaranteed.
Harry expressed his regret in a written speech that he felt forced to step down and leave the state in 2020. He emphasized that the UK is where he wants his kids to feel at home and that it is important to their history. He did point out that this would not be possible if their health could not be guaranteed while they were on British land. Harry even mentioned his reticence to unduly put himself in harm’s way, given his life experience.
